We travelled the GCR in June July of 2010 - it was an absolutely awesome trip. We did a lot of planning before the trip but found the road much better than we expected. The Tjukayiria Roadhouse was a very unexpected pleasure. Great facilities and very helpful managers. We both just loved the place.
For anyone looking for the REAL outback experience THIS IS the trip (we liked it so much we did it twice).
